Welcome to For The Least of These!

 Jesus said :

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are downtrodden, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.‘ And He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon Him. And He began to say to them,

‘Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.’ – Luke 4:17-21

The poor, broken and marginalised in our midst are very special to God. He hates it when the defenceless are mistreated, when the fatherless are shunned and the widow is deprived. It moves Gods heart with compassion when he looks down on the injustice suffered by the disabled, the old, the mentally ill and the socially excluded. At the start of Jesus’ ministry ‘preaching the good news to the poor’ was the first thing he mentioned. Often in church it’s the last thing we do. The church should be a place of solace of safety and of succour for these people but very often it has become the place where they experience even more exclusion, rejection and torment. It should not be so. ‘ For the Least of These’ is here to address these issues and also to attempt to ‘open the eyes’ of Christians hearts to the plight of those on the edge of society. As Christians if one part of the body hurts all the body hurts. Well one part is hurting while the other part enjoys the ‘good life’ with its eyes tightly shut……
It is the aim of this blog to encourage those already working with the poor and marginalised in a Christian context. Please feel free to email me (ffts@hotmail.co.uk ) with any ideas you have for this site or simply to share your story of your work in this area. I would love to have as many links and stories as I can on the site.

Let’s encourage one another in this important life changing ministry.

This site exists also to raise awareness of this issue among believers and hopefully by the grace of God change hearts and minds to have compassion on the needy and take a step of faith in reaching out to them……..

  1. I like your site… God is so for the poor and marginalized and it is refreshing to see a site that promotes this 🙂 God bless

  2. Your site…and you, have a special place in my heart. I feel warmed, and encouraged each time I visit.I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will richly bless you with an abundance of peace and grace. We all so desperately need Him…Scarlett

  3. I no longer attend church after suffering years of manipulation and control, when i left i needed trauma therapy to help me come to terms with my experience. I no longer have nightmares but i still get somewhat anxious at the mention of the place i attended.

It is encouraging to know that i was not the only one who was deceived by false doctrine taught as the truth. I still feel ashamed for taking my daughter in to what i now consider to be a ‘lions den’.

What i have read on your site tonight has helped me to find a level of peace and comfort.
Thank you for being brave enough to declare the truth so that others can be truly set free.

      Hi Libby
Thanks for your comment. The main thing is we survived!! The longer I walk with The Lord the more I learn about the church system and it’s place in the grand scheme of things. Those who survive leave and keep their faith have the mark of Christ. It’s almost impossible to stay and be true to God. Bless you.
